Olu Jacobs was a national icon — Omokri

Reno Omokri, Nigeria's Ambassador-designate to Mexico, has described the late veteran actor Olu Jacobs as a national icon. Omokri said Jacobs' pioneering career on the international stage inspired generations of Nigerian actors. He noted that Jacobs broke international barriers before Nollywood became a global phenomenon and brought pride to Nigerians through his performances in British television and international films. Jacobs died at the age of 84.
