The Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Agency (NPERA) has warned that seaport operators who violate economic regulations will face a fine of N20 million. Individual offenders will be subject to a minimum penalty of N500,000. The Director-General, Dr Pius Akutah, stated that the agency is committed to transforming the port regulatory environment through stronger enforcement, standard-setting, and automation.
