The United States has imposed visa restrictions on certain South African officials, citing their alleged involvement in race-based discrimination, uncompensated land seizures, and incitement of violence against minority groups. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the policy, stating that the South African government has not adequately addressed concerns previously raised by Washington. The restrictions target foreign nationals responsible for or complicit in enacting or implementing laws or policies that enable such actions.
