Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has warned of a serious risk as the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo spreads to new areas. While admissions are declining in Ituri, the original epicentre, the national number of new cases has not fallen. South Ubangi has become the seventh affected province, and North Kivu now accounts for nearly half of all newly confirmed cases. MSF Emergency Coordinator Anthony Kergosien stated that assuming the outbreak is under control would be a mistake.
