Adamawa State has recorded 126 suspected diphtheria cases across 13 local government areas, resulting in 20 deaths. The State Epidemiologist, Jones Steven Kadabiyu, confirmed the figures in a telephone interview, noting that two cases were confirmed positive and are receiving treatment. He added that 15 new cases were reported in September 2026, with six patients currently hospitalised in various health facilities.
