The National President of the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), Lucky Amiwero, has commended the Nigeria Customs Service for intercepting consignments of pump-action rifles allegedly imported from Turkey. He noted the interceptions were significant, especially as the country approaches another political season. Amiwero stressed the need to distinguish between importers or agents allegedly involved in illegal arms importation and the Customs Service. A LASU don also warned that insecurity and elections may drive gun-running.
