The High Commissioner of Botswana to Nigeria, Mrs. Philda Nani Kereng, has expressed her intention to visit Ekiti State to explore its tourism potential. She made this known during a meeting with the Director-General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, at the Akwaaba African Travel Market 2026 in Lagos, where Ekiti was named Nigeria's Most Active Tourism State for the third consecutive year. Kereng stated she is eager to experience the state's tourist attractions, cultural heritage, hospitality, and agro-tourism economy. She also expressed interest in understanding Ekiti's development strategies in the tourism sector.
