The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) held a bilateral meeting to discuss strengthening Ethiopia's regulatory systems for medicines and medical devices. The WHO Representative to Ethiopia, Professor Francis Chisaka Kasolo, met with EFDA Director General Ms. Heran Gerba to advance EFDA's efforts towards achieving WHO Maturity Level 3 for medical devices regulation. WHO reaffirmed its commitment to supporting EFDA through the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool Plus Medical Devices. Professor Kasolo commended EFDA for its progress and for completing a WHO-assisted self-benchmarking exercise.
