North West Troops Rescue 31 Kidnapped Victims, Kill 2 Terrorists In Katsina, Kebbi

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued 31 kidnapped victims, neutralised two terrorists, including a notorious kingpin, and arrested two suspected terrorists in separate operations in Katsina and Kebbi States. Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Gusau, Zamfara State. The operations were conducted on September 14 and 15, 2026, following credible intelligence and distress calls from affected communities. On September 14, troops of Sector 2 in Katsina State intercepted terrorists who had abducted civilians from Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities in Funtua Local Government Area, rescuing 10 victims after a gun duel.
