An international publication, Global Hukum Indonesia, has spotlighted former Cross River State governor Donald Duke as a promising presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 election. The journal, which describes itself as a peer-reviewed academic publication, noted that Duke is drawing attention from political and economic observers outside Nigeria. Duke was first elected governor in 1999 on the Peoples Democratic Party platform and later contested the 2023 presidential election under the Social Democratic Party. He is now the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party.
