SDP Presidential Candidate Hails Supreme Court Verdict, Says Ruling Ends Party’s Leadership Crisis 

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has hailed the Supreme Court's dismissal of an appeal by Shehu Gabam challenging the party's leadership. Adebayo said the ruling ends the prolonged leadership dispute and clears the way for Prof. Abubakar Sadiq Gombe to continue leading the SDP. The Supreme Court's five-member panel dismissed Gabam's appeal against the Court of Appeal judgment, which had set aside a Federal High Court decision recognizing him as national chairman. The party also challenged INEC over the 2027 election timetable.
