The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal in the prolonged legal dispute over the leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), effectively ending litigation involving former National Chairman Shehu Gabam. Counsel to the SDP, Prince Adewole Adebayo, disclosed the judgment to journalists, explaining that the dispute originated from a Federal High Court decision directing INEC to recognize Gabam. The Court of Appeal set aside that judgment, and the Supreme Court dismissed the subsequent appeal after determining there was no live issue. Adebayo is also the SDP presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
