The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Wednesday affirmed Prof. Abubakar Sadiq Gombe as the national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). The apex court dismissed the appeal filed by Shehu Gabam, stating that the appeal had become irrelevant. The judgment was delivered by Justices Adamu Jauro, Haruna Tsammani, A.A. Adumein, Jonah Adah, and Joseph Oyewole. Gabam had approached the Federal High Court in Abuja to seek the legality of his claim, but the Court of Appeal in August set aside the judgment that recognized his leadership.
