The United States government, through its embassy in Banjul and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, launched a 24-month Forensic Investigation Enhancement Project worth $930,000 for The Gambia. The project will be implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and civil society organizations. It responds to the findings of the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission on enforced disappearances. Chargé d’Affaires Robert Anderson underscored U.S. support for The Gambia’s efforts to deliver justice and accountability.
