The Academic Staff Union of Universities has criticized the Federal and state governments over the non-payment of three-and-a-half months' salaries withheld from university lecturers. ASUU President Prof. Christopher Piwuna said the uneven implementation of the December 2025 agreement with the union is disappointing. He noted that the union expected the agreement to bring stability and improve welfare but several provisions remain unimplemented. Piwuna spoke on Frontline, a current affairs programme on Eagle 102.5 FM, Ilese-Ijebu.
