Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe has said some electricity consumers asked him to slow down with improvements in power supply, joking that their freezers were freezing. He spoke on Wednesday at the commissioning of a 3-megawatt solar hybrid power project at the University of Abuja. Tegbe said areas that previously had no electricity for three months are now receiving about 18 hours of light daily. He recalled telling Nigerians during his Senate screening that improvements in electricity supply would be noticeable within three to six months, while acknowledging challenges facing the sector.
