The Kwankwasiyya Movement has blamed alleged government interference for the resignation of the chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Saidu Yahaya. The movement’s spokesperson, Habibu Mohammed, said on Wednesday that Yahaya resigned after allegedly being prevented from independently discharging his responsibilities as chairman of the state anti-graft agency. Mohammed said Yahaya had raised questions over local government funds, projects and other government expenditures, adding that his perceived affiliation with the Kwankwasiyya Movement further complicated his position. He alleged that the government subsequently frustrated Yahaya’s efforts because of concerns that his activities were targeting government officials.
