The Presidency has asked the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, if he would make good his threat to quit the 2027 presidential race with the quantum of facts and figures about debts owed while he served as governor of Anambra State. This was as the Anambra State government released what it termed the public debt records of Obi while he was governor. Obi had recently threatened to withdraw from the January 2027 presidential race if there were proof of any undoing during his tenure as two-time Governor of Anambra State. The Presidency has therefore taken Obi up on his threat, asking how soon he was going to quit the electoral stage with the avalanche of evidence provided.
