The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has called on its contractors and consultants to prevent disputes from escalating, emphasizing that early identification and resolution of conflicts are essential to avoid delays, cost overruns, and project abandonment in the Niger Delta region. The Commission identified potential areas of disagreement such as payments, project variations, designs, timelines, quality of work, measurements, site access, and host community relations, which must be addressed promptly. Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Executive Director, Corporate Services, NDDC, made the call in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during a three-day sensitisation programme on Conflict Sensitivity and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for NDDC contractors and consultants. The programme was themed 'Enhancing Capacity for Alternative Dispute Resolution: Application in Project E'.
