The Kaduna State Police Command has neutralised four suspected bandits and arrested 12 others during a gun duel in Ikara local government area. The command said it also rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered one AK-47 and two locally made guns. In a statement issued by the command's spokesperson, DSP Hassan Mansir, the operatives recovered three sacks of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. The statement explained that on 16th September, 2026, acting on credible intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer for Ikara led a team of operatives, in collaboration with members of the Kaduna Vigilance Service, to the residence of one Haruna Yakubu of Yoromowa, Auchanawa Village, where they encountered armed resistance.
