The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has reported that over five billion people worldwide rely on forests for their livelihoods. The FAO, in a new report titled 'Forests for Food: Nourishing People, Sustaining the Planet', highlighted the overlooked contribution of forests to food security and nutrition. The report calls on countries to integrate forests into agrifood system policies.
