NDC unveils Nasarawa governorship candidate after primary

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) held a substitution primary in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Tuesday, where Mr Musa Shugaba-Abdullahi emerged as the party's governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections. The exercise also produced five candidates for the Nasarawa State House of Assembly. Dr Peter Onigah, NDC National Treasurer and Chairman of the Electoral Committee, said the primary was conducted in line with the Electoral Act and was supervised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In his acceptance speech, Shugaba-Abdullahi pledged to implement a five-point agenda focusing on education, healthcare, infrastructure, empowerment, and security if elected, and promised free and compulsory education.
