The South East Development Commission (SEDC) is set to flag off its first agro-mechanisation project in Nomeh Unateze community, Nkanu East LGA of Enugu State. The project is part of 15 such initiatives earmarked for all senatorial zones in the South East region. Managing Director and CEO Mark Okoye announced this during a site and community engagement visit. Okoye stated that the SEDC, established in 2024, spent its first year conducting studies and designing a blueprint for the region's economy. The agro-mechanisation projects are a flagship part of this blueprint and aim to address insecurity, unemployment, and food security.
