Vice President Kashim Shettima revealed that only six out of the 19 northern governors supported President Bola Tinubu's presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 election. He made this disclosure during the turbaning of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the Sadauna of Ilorin Emirate at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. Shettima commended Tinubu's policies since assuming office and urged Nigerian politicians to stop treating politics as a 'game of death' and to embrace reconciliation after every political contest. He also stated that the administration inherited an economy on the verge of collapse with less than $3.9 billion in national reserves, but Tinubu chose not to blame his predecessor and instead inherited the challenges.
