Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old mother, Mrs Ogechi Ofoma, for allegedly abusing her seven-year-old daughter, Oluebube Ofoma, in Obosi, Idemili North local government area. The command said preliminary information revealed that the child was subjected to severe physical abuse, including injuries inflicted with a hot knife. Its spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this to journalists in Awka, the state capital, and said the command strongly condemns the alleged brutal abuse of a seven-year-old girl and reaffirms its resolve to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. Ikenga said the command received a report on the evening of September 13, 2026, concerning alleged child abuse and severe bodily injuries involving the seven-year-old, and that the prompt intervention of security personnel led to the arrest.
