Chelsea Football Club has announced that Todd Boehly and Mark Walter have sold their ownership stakes to Clearlake Capital, which now assumes full control of the Premier League side. The American billionaires had partnered with Clearlake to purchase Chelsea from Roman Abramovich for £2.5 billion in May 2022. Prior to the announcement, Clearlake held 62 percent of the club, with Boehly and Walter holding the remaining shares alongside Hansjorg Wyss. Wyss will remain an important stakeholder and partner in the ownership group.
