Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Lagos governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said he will campaign in Yoruba ahead of the 2027 election. In an interview on Arise TV, he addressed previous criticisms about his inability to speak Yoruba, stating that he has hired a Yoruba teacher and learned the language. Rhodes-Vivour, who contested the 2023 governorship election on the Labour Party platform, emphasized the importance of language and culture in engaging with Lagos voters. He described his progress in learning Yoruba as wonderful.
