Marafa vows to resign if insecurity persists after two years

Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Zamfara State, has pledged to resign if his administration fails to achieve at least 75 percent of its security objectives within two years, if elected in the 2027 general elections. He made this declaration on Wednesday while responding to questions from journalists in Gusau. Marafa said his administration would set a two-year target for addressing insecurity and that he would take responsibility if it failed to meet the target. He stated that his decision to contest was driven by a desire to contribute to restoring peace and law and order in Zamfara State, which has been affected by banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.
