The Kenya Air Force Commander, Major General Bernard Waliaula, commissioned the renovated Moi Air Base Swimming Pool on 16 September 2026. The facility, originally established in 1942 during the Royal Air Force era, has served military personnel for over eight decades. The renovation aims to restore functionality, enhance safety, and provide a modern facility for training, fitness, and welfare. During the commissioning, Major General Waliaula emphasized that infrastructure is a critical enabler of military capability and highlighted swimming's role in endurance, resilience, and water confidence.
