The Bauchi State Police Command has deployed personnel and operational assets to Disina State Constituency in Shira LGA and Sakwa State Constituency in Zaki LGA ahead of bye-elections scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026. Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu ordered the deployment in collaboration with other security agencies under the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security. The command announced that vehicular movement and commercial activities would be restricted from 6:00am to 6:00pm on election day in the two constituencies, except for essential duties. The measures aim to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral exercise.
