The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained the meanings of the 'Not Admitted,' 'Admission in Progress' and 'Admitted' statuses displayed on candidates' Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). The Board gave the clarification in an explainer video shared on Thursday, urging candidates to continue checking their CAPS profiles regularly as the admission process progresses. According to JAMB, a 'Not Admitted' status does not necessarily mean that a candidate has lost the opportunity of securing admission, as it simply means the candidate has not been offered admission yet but may still be admitted. On the 'Admission in Progress' status, JAMB explained that it could mean that the candidate's institution had recommended the person for admission, but the process had not yet been completed.
