The Oyo State Police Command has disbursed a total of N38,002,359.70 to the families of 48 officers who died in service. The Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Olugbenga, presented the cheques at the command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police. The payments were made under the Inspector-General of Police’s Group Life Assurance and Family Welfare Scheme. The force stated that the intervention demonstrates that the sacrifices of fallen officers are not forgotten and forms part of broader welfare efforts to boost morale.
