Nigeria has won a legal victory at the International Chamber of Commerce arbitration tribunal in Paris against Sunrise Power and Transmission Company. The tribunal dismissed Sunrise's $2.35 billion claim over the Mambilla hydropower project, rejecting arguments that Nigeria breached a 2020 settlement agreement. The panel also ordered Sunrise and its promoter, Leno Adesanya, to personally bear responsibility for the dispute and to refund 75 percent of Nigeria's legal costs, amounting to $11.82 million. The ruling was issued on Thursday by a three-member panel.
