South African police have intensified investigations into a series of women's deaths in Ekurhuleni after a ninth body was discovered in Dawn Park, Boksburg, on Thursday. The unidentified woman was found in an open area, bringing to nine the number of women whose bodies have been recovered across the municipality since July. Police are examining whether the cases are connected, although no link has yet been established. The latest discovery came as officers increased their presence in the affected communities, with roadblocks and heightened patrols reported in areas including Kempton Park. Deputy National Police Commissioner Tebello Mosikili said a multidisciplinary team had been deployed to work on the cases, stating that investigators were pursuing every available lead. A man arrested in connection with the first case, involving a woman found restrained with cable ties in July, appeared in court.
