The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has assured parents that Nigerian children are safe as the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) flagged off its Safe School Programme nationwide. The launch took place at LEA Primary School in Maitama, Abuja. The programme aims to strengthen security around schools through enhanced police-community collaboration, intelligence gathering, surveillance, and rapid response. The initiative is expected to be replicated across the country, with internal warning and response mechanisms developed to alert security authorities to emerging threats.
