Nigerian animation artist Uzoma Dunkwu has received an Emmy Award for his character design work on Marvel Animation's Eyes of Wakanda. Dunkwu was named the winner of Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation for Character Design for the episode 'Into the Lion's Den' of the Disney+ series. The Television Academy included him among the winners of its 2026 juried Emmy awards, which are decided by panels of industry professionals. Based in Lagos, Dunkwu has built a career spanning visual development, character design, animation direction and education, while working on projects for major international companies.
