An International Chamber of Commerce tribunal in Paris dismissed a $2.35 billion claim by Sunrise Power against Nigeria over the Mambilla hydropower project. The tribunal also ordered Sunrise Power and its promoter, Leno Adesanya, to reimburse Nigeria 75 percent of the legal fees and expenses incurred during the arbitration. The panel rejected Sunrise's claims that Nigeria breached contractual obligations under a settlement agreement and addendum, and dismissed its request for $400 million. The tribunal further ruled that Adesanya is bound by the arbitration agreement with Nigeria.
