At least 33 people were feared killed after suspected terrorists invaded several villages in the Dansadau axis of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Wednesday. Residents said armed groups stormed communities including Dandalla, the headquarters of Kyambana Ward, as well as Madada, Tudun Gabas and surrounding villages. A resident, Yahuza Ibrahim, said the attack was most severe in Dandalla, where the 33 people were feared killed. The attackers also reportedly prevented residents from conducting funeral rites for the victims, while many displaced persons, including women and elderly men, fled to Dansadau town for safety.
