South African authorities are using fingerprints to verify the nationality of a suspect arrested in connection with the first murder in Kempton Park in July. Lieutenant-General Tebello Mosikili, Deputy National Commissioner for Policing, stated that police and prison fingerprint records are being used to establish the suspect's identity and possible links to the killings. The suspect appeared in court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody. The first body, a 37-year-old woman found naked and bound with cable ties, was discovered in an open veld near the R21 on July 15.
