President Bola Tinubu has welcomed a judgment delivered in Paris by an International Arbitration Tribunal under the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in favor of Nigeria, rejecting claims instituted by Sunrise Power and Transmission Company regarding the Mambilla hydroelectric power project. The ruling was announced on September 17, 2026, according to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga. Tinubu affirmed Nigeria's commitment to genuine investors and its readiness to honor legal obligations. He also appreciated the individual commitments of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the collective efforts of the legal team and witnesses.
