Ro Khanna, a Democratic congressman representing Silicon Valley, has sent letters to Chinese AI companies including Alibaba Group, DeepSeek, and Moonshot, requesting their commitment to join American AI labs in a binding international agreement to pace the development of the technology. Khanna, who serves as a ranking member, made the request as part of efforts to establish international coordination on frontier AI development.
