Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has warned foreign missions against bypassing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deal directly with the presidency and other government arms. She made the warning during her first formal briefing with the Diplomatic Corps since assuming office as substantive foreign minister. Odumegwu-Ojukwu stated that the ministry remains the only official channel to the Nigerian government and that bypassing established channels risks conflicting information, duplication, and misunderstandings. She assured diplomats that the ministry is their diplomatic home and that her doors remain open.
