Commands were reportedly instructed to choose top performers with strong leadership qualities for the audience. The gathering follows an event a year earlier in which Hegseth summoned hundreds of senior military leaders to Quantico. The Office of the Secretary of Defense declined to comment on or provide a copy of the emailed memo.
