An energy expert and lecturer at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, has called on the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to revive government-owned refineries. The call comes as rising crude oil prices continue to increase the cost of petroleum products, placing a burden on households and businesses. The expert argued that reviving the refineries would help mitigate the impact of volatile global oil prices on the domestic economy.
