The feud between All Progressives Congress governors and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has deepened, with the party's South-East leadership backing the Progressive Governors' Forum's demand for full support for APC candidates in 2027. The zone rejected the Rainbow Coalition, which Wike midwifed, warning it could harm APC flag bearers, including President Bola Tinubu. Wike insisted the coalition supports Tinubu's re-election and accused some APC governors of being lazy. Meanwhile, Aliyu slammed Wike, saying he has been compensated for his 2023 support, while Jibrin warned APC governors against embarrassing Wike. Shettima also clarified his remarks on northern governors' support for the president.
