Troops of 18 Brigade, Nigerian Army, rescued 22 kidnapped victims in Muchiya village, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. The rescue occurred on 15th September, 2026, when troops launched a fighting patrol based on credible intelligence about terrorists' convergence. The terrorists fled into the surrounding forest upon sighting the troops, who pursued them and rescued the victims. Three motorcycles and other items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists were recovered.
