2027 Budget: FG moves to produce implementable Finance Bill

The Federal Government has inaugurated a subcommittee to review existing fiscal and tax reforms and develop an implementable Finance Bill for the 2027 budget. The subcommittee, chaired by Permanent Secretary Raymond Omachi with Albert Folorunsho as Co-Chair, was inaugurated in Abuja by Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele. Oyedele charged the committee to ensure the 2027 Finance Bill responds to emerging economic realities and builds on the fundamental principles of the 2025 reforms while addressing gaps identified during implementation. The Finance Bill typically accompanies the annual budget and provides the legislative framework for fiscal policies and tax measures.
