Former Secretary to the Anambra State Government Oseloka Obaze has defended the official handover note by former Governor Peter Obi to his successor Willie Obiano after he left office in 2014. Obaze, who said he witnessed the handover process, stated he was present when Obiano received and signed an acknowledgement for his copy of the letter, complete with annexed certified bank statements, related documents, and the handover report. He said the letter listed assets and liabilities in black and red. Obaze, who served as SSG under Obi and briefly under Obiano, gave his position in a post on his verified X handle, amid a debt debate in the state following Governor Chukwuma Soludo's claim that the Obi government left huge debts.
