Veteran actor Olu Jacobs has died, according to an announcement by his son, Olusoji Jacobs. The cause of death was not disclosed. Filmmaker Tunde Kelani paid tribute, recalling that he first met Jacobs in 1978 while studying at the London Film School, where Jacobs agreed to lead a student production without charging a professional fee. Kelani described Jacobs as a founding patriarch of modern Nigerian screen performance.
