Members of the Academic Staff Union of the University of Benin (ASUU-UNIBEN) have suspended their indefinite strike over half-payment of August salaries and non-payment of other allowances. The suspension followed the university management's promise to pay the Earned Academic Allowance (EAA) component for June, July, and August not later than today. The branch chairperson briefed congress on the latest developments, stating that all entitlements due to members had been paid except for the Council component of EAA for June, July, and August 2026, which the administration committed to pay.
